The top 12 singers from each section from the previous contest advance to this level. For the first time in the audition process, students will audition twice. The first audition you will be singing the literature and for the second audition you will sight-read a line of music. The advancing students will be announced at the conclusion of the All-Region Choir Concert on Saturday, November 17 at Granbury HS Auditorium. The top 5 students plus 2 alternates from each section chosen will advance to the Texas All State Choir audition on January 5, 2005 at TBA Midland/Odessa area. Students must keep their academic standing to continue on in this process and participate at the last audition for All-State choir.

Sightreading

Students will be singing behind a screen for both singing the liturature as well as sightreading. The judges will not view or speak to the students. You will sing approximately 1 to 2 minutes of each song. When given your cuts carefully mark your music. This audition will start in the afternoon and finish that night. Wear comfortable clothes and bring plenty of water to drink.  Please do not bring CD, ipod, mp3 or cassette players, radios, TV’s or any noise making device that might disturb others concentrating on the audition process. Please do bring your music, pencil, highlighter, paper clips, etc.

Parents are welcome to attend this audition. Volunteers are needed to help work the contest procedure...run CD players, student monitors, door monitors etc.
