Saturday, September 22, 2007
Granbury High School - Granbury, Texas

About the Zone Auditions

The auditioning students will be placed randomly in two different competing zones. The top 20 students plus 1 alternate in each of the eight vocal sections (Soprano I, Soprano II, Alto I, Alto II, Tenor I, Tenor II, Bass I, and Bass II) will be chosen from each Zone for a total of 40 students plus 2 alternates. If there are not enough to have separate zones then the top 40 students plus 2 alternates will be chosen (or less if there are less than 40 entered in that particular voice part). The advancing students will be announced at the conclusion of the contest. These 40 students (top 20 each zone) will advance to the next level on October 27th at Burleson High School.

About the Audition

Students will be singing behind a screen. The judges will not view or speak to the students. You will sing approximately 1 minute of each song. When given your cuts carefully mark your music. This day will last forever so you may want to bring something to read or quiet games to play. Wear comfortable clothes, bring plenty of water to drink, snacks to eat and/or money to spend while you wait to sing. There will also be an ample supply of concessions for you to purchase. Please do not bring CD, ipod, mp3 or cassette players, radios, TV’s or any noise making device that might disturb others concentrating on the audition process. Please do bring your music, pencil, highlighter, paper clips, etc.

Parent Chaperones are Needed!
